Barker's Pharmacy and Compounding is located in Mattituck, N.Y.  Serving L.I.'s beautiful North Fork since 1921 as a service oriented practice, the staff includes 5 Registered Pharmacists, and 2 Pharmacy Technicians. In addition to traditional prescription filling, Barker's has re-instituted the time honored profession of Pharmaceutical Compounding.  This service allows a patient to receive medications prescribed by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant which are not available or discontinued by drug manufacturers.  It also allows patients to receive medications which are more suited to their particular needs.  For instance, a prescriber may decide that the side effects a patient has experienced from a drug could be eliminated if the drug was formulated in a different way.
